Superhero Wall Decor

My three year old grandson Christian loves superheros. What little boy doesn’t like superheros right ?  Christian recently  transitioned into a twin bed, and his room is being decorated with a superhero theme.  So far his room has superhero bedding , wall decor and action figures.  I recently did a project I thought I would share with you.  It was super easy, but a little time consuming to complete.  But I love how it turned out.

Is is a plane? Is it a Bird?

Is it a plane? Is it a Bird?

To start this project you will need a copy of your superhero you want to enlarge and trace onto white paper. I found my image by searching on the web for coloring pages of superheros.  I also looked up color images in order to get my colors correct.  I then printed the images from my printer.  My tracer allows me to enlarge from  different printed images, I think I used a 3′ x 5″  printed image and ended up transferring onto a blank white sheet of paper that was approximately 56″ x 36″ .  So my image was pretty small to start with. .  You will need to play around a bit and see how the image lines up on your canvas.

To enlarge my printed superhero I used a tracer.  This worked pretty good.  I stapled my white sheet of paper on the wall, and moved the tracer back until I was able to get the size I wanted.

This is what it looked liked projected onto the white paper.  It worked best in a dark room with just the tracer on.

I then took a black permanent marker and traced all the lines.  Now you basically have something that looks

like a big coloring page.  Just need some paint to finish.

I used acrylic paints and stated painting.  I referred to my printed images I had printed from the computer as a guideline.

Baby Bugaboo Bibs

In a recent post, I shared with you my tutorial on how to make custom sewing labels.  Today I thought I would share a few pics of the pull over bibs I having been making for my two grandsons.  They turned out so adorable, and I had such good feed back on how well they were made, that I am now in the process of making and putting them up on my etsy store.

Crochet Purse with Crocodile Stitch

My latest endeavor is making Crochet Purses. I think these will make wonderful Christmas Gifts.  The stitch I’m using is the very popular crocodile stitch. I added pearl beads for an extra special look. I just love how it turned out.
