Warm Ribbed Crochet Stripped Women’s Hat
Here is a hat I designed for my 92 year old Mother-in-law who kept losing her hats. She just loved it. I was so happy with the design and how quickly it works up. The hat is crochet in the round and can be increased or decreased for sizing. It is extremely warm.
Fits teen/adult 19-22” head ( can be decreased or increased )
½ skein each yellow & brown worsted weight yarn
Sl St- Slip Stich
Dc- Double Crochet
Fpdc- Front Post Double Crochet
Bpdc- Back Post Double Crochet
Hat is worked in the round and size can be adjusted by adding rounds or decreasing rounds.
Round 1: Work 12 dc into a magic circle. (12)
Round 2: 2 dc into each dc, join with sl st (24)
Round 3: (dc in next dc, 2 dc) around, join with sl st (36)
Round 4: (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc) around, join with sl st (48)
Round 5: ( dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc) around, join with sl st (60)
Round 6: ( dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc) around, join with sl st ( 72)
If you want your hat bigger, this is where you would add more stitches to increase the rounds. ( dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc) around.

Drop your main color and yo with your contrast color and finish off the dc with yo, pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through 2 loops.)* For your next stitch, drop your contrast color and pick up your main color and continue in the same manner for each stitch * to* See pics below
